The Sprinkler is a Sub Weapon in Splatoon, Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3.

Description[]

When used, it continually sprays ink in a circular ring around itself, inking speed going slower and slower, with the inking radius also getting smaller and smaller, until it goes to a complete stop and breaks. It can be thrown onto virtually any surface, including ones that are upside-down. If the user throws another sprinkler with one already in use, or the user is splatted, the first one will automatically break.

Splatoon 2[]

The Sprinkler was tweaked in Splatoon 2 to have its inking power start out stronger but weaken over time. There are four distinct phases:

  • Deployment phase: This phase starts when the Sprinkler lands on the ground and ends when it fires its first drop of ink. This phase lasts 0.5 seconds.
  • High-power phase: The Sprinkler spins the fastest and has the most inking power during this phase. It fires ink droplets every four frames and rotates 33 degrees per frame. It lasts for 5 seconds.
  • Mid-power phase: The Sprinkler slows down and inks less in this phase. It fires ink droplets every six frames and rotates eleven degrees per frame. It lasts fifteen seconds.
  • Low-power phase: The Sprinkler slows down even further, with very low ink output and range. It fires ink droplets every nine frames and rotates one degree per frame. This phase lasts until the Sprinkler is relocated or destroyed.

The Sprinkler has 120 HP. Object Shredder multiplies the damage done against Sprinklers by ten.

Quotes[]

A device that sticks to walls or the ground and sprays ink around.

Immediately after deployment it sprays vigorously, but gradually dwindles in strength.
You can only place one at a time.

Tips[]

  • Throwing it where Inklings usually pass by forces them to use a small amount of ink to clear the area up.
  • As it allows you to throw it onto upside down surfaces, throw it upside down as the shower of ink may damage and confuse Inklings.
  • Throwing it on hard-to-reach areas such as the moving platform on Saltspray Rig will allow it to ink more turf and be harder for enemies to destroy.
  • The Sprinkler can also be used to distract opposing Inklings, giving its user an opportunity to attack while their focus is on the Sprinkler.
  • It can be used as a shield, although the Splash Wall works better. Throw it down, and shoot over it. This works best for stationary weapons like The Kelp Splat Charger, Kelp Splatterscope, and Custom Hydra Splatling

Countering[]

  • Shooting the sprinkler will cause it to break. Make sure to shoot any enemy sprinklers in sight, as they will continue spreading ink unless you destroy it.
  • If you are using a short ranged weapon, watch out for opponents near the sprinkler.
